- I recently installed a Picasso II, 2 MB in my A2000. All the colors
- and the resolution are nice but there is one major problem I haven't
- manage to solve - graphic garbage.
-
- When I start a program sometimes parts of the active display, usually
- the Workbench, is destroyed by random colors. This garbage always
- appear in horizontal bands and can be removed with a redraw of the
- destroyed area.
-
- At first I used the Picasso software but after a week I changed to
- CyberGraphX (commercial) and the garbage has always been there. With
- the Picasso drivers I think a flip of screens was enough to remove the
- garbage, I'm not sure. With CGX I have to redraw (e g Reset WB, move a
- window, ...) to clean the screen.
-
- The garbage starts to appear when a program loads (allocates and writes
- to memory?) and I can watch more and more of the screen getting
- destroyed by randomly colored pixels.
-
- Beside the Picasso my Amiga has a GVP Combo, that's a 030 with SCSI
- and 5 MB of "extended" (GVP-term) 32bit memory.
-
- Here is what ShowConfig has to say:
- PROCESSOR: CPU 68030/68882fpu/68030mmu
- CUSTOM CHIPS: ECS PAL Agnus (id=$0020), Normal Denise (id=$00FF)
- VERS: Kickstart version 40.63, Exec version 40.10, Disk version 40.42
- RAM: Node type $A, Attributes $5 (FAST), at $1000000-$14FFFFF (5.0 meg)
- Node type $A, Attributes $703 (CHIP), at $400-$FFFFF (~1.0 meg)
- BOARDS:
- Board + ROM (HD?) (unidentified): Prod=2017/11($7E1/$B) (@$E90000 64K)
- Board (unidentified): Prod=2167/11($877/$B) (@$200000 2meg)
- Board (unidentified): Prod=2167/12($877/$C) (@$EA0000 64K)

- Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any theories from you out
- there are very welcome. Solutions even more.
